Christ the Lord is Risen Today

Easter flowers are sweetly blooming
Heaven's artillery gaily blooming.
Easter fields with green are bright,
Angel's songs ring in the height,
Love's redeeming work is done,
Christ o'er death hath victory won.

Let Easter-tide with joy be bright,
The glad sunshine with fairer light,
Christ hath conquered in the fight,
Christ is risen to-day with might.
Love's redeeming work is done,
Christ o'er death hath victory won.

The budding trees their voices raise,
Birds and rivers sing songs of praise,
Praise we Him, whose blood did save,
Freeing us from sin's dark grave,
Love's redeeming work is done,
Christ o'er death hath victory won.

He opened wide the gates of gold,
Reclaimed for us it's joys untold,
Son of Mary, Heaven's King,
Died, our life and peace to bring,
Love's redeeming work is done,
Christ o'er death hath victory won.

He died that man might live above,
He lives and pleads for us in love,
To Him, this happy Easter-day,
Let us loving homage pay.
Love's redeeming work is done,
Christ o'er death hath victory won.

Lord of Love, mortals redeeming,
Earth with joy to-day is teeming,
Let the whole wide world rejoice,
Mortals sing with love's sweet voice,
Love's redeeming work is done,
Christ o'er death hath victory won.
