Love
O Love, amazing Love, that nobly gave
With bleeding hearts their dearest one, to save
A world of Nations grappling Hate's demands.
O love, unselfish Love, that gladly heard
Truth's glorious summons, and deeply stirred
Did offer up their lives that right might win.
O Love, surpassing Love, that swiftly came
with pierced feet through paths of liquid flame
To lead His flock all safely home again.
O Love, undying Love, that richly crowned
The heroes straggling from Life's battle ground
With renewed Life at the Eternal Spring.
O Love, enduring Love, that proudly raise
Massive monuments to their worth and praise
Remembrance true eternal through the years.
